Aldi Near Me

Finally an Aldi near me!  Andrea Edwards here and I love to save some dimes and time whenever I can.  These store locations can do both!

This blog was started to help you to save some dimes and to save some time.  This international supermarket chain provides some great products for millions of families.  But as a part of their business model, they are very streamlined, which means certain information you cannot find easily.

If you have a question about Aldi that you have trouble getting an answer to then shoot me an email at info(at) dimesandtime.com and I'll make it a post so everyone else with that question will be helped as well!  Plus, I'll give you a shout out if you don't mind.

How does finding and Aldi near me help you?

So, how does finding an Aldi near me help you?  Well, I like to share good news and I like to help people.  On my never ending journey to "find the best value for the price" I stumbled upon this shop club.  It is similar to an online Costco membership but you get all of your purchases delivered to your door.  If you want to know more about this club that can save you hours of time and potentially hundreds of dollars then click the picture at the bottom and I'll let you in on the secret!

While I was super pumped after I finally visited they Aldi near me, and saw how much of a savings I received compared to my other local markets, there have been a few shortfalls.  You know, like a little thing called, DAYS OFF!  While the holidays are different from country to country just know that on major holidays they will more than likely be closed.  I learned this on more than one occasion.

The first time this happened it was on New Year's Day.  I won't knock them for giving their employees off for that holiday but I could not find this information out online.  So I get in my car, in the cold, drive to the Aldi near me, and doors are closed!  To be fair, the next two closest grocery stores were closed too, but I did find one open a little bit further away.  Now they are not the only grocer that isn't super clear with holiday hours or closings but those stores don't have the sweet prices!

Aldi specials this week near me?

Hello there, my name is Andrea Edwards, and my mother taught me the value of a dime back when I was a girl.  As I have lived and grown over these last forty years I have to come to learn the value of time.

This blog was started to help you to save some dimes and to save some time.  This international supermarket chain provides some great products for millions of families.  But as a part of their business model, they are very streamlined, which means certain information you cannot find easily.

Most of the stores opening times are 8am Monday to Friday and closing times are 9pm Mon. to Fri.  On the weekends they tend to close a little earlier but you can click on the city closest to you to get more info.

Aldi Near Me Busy Times

What are the Aldi near me busy times?  Honestly, the best time to shop at most grocery stores is late at night or early in the morning.  Here in Montgomery County all of our spots close at 9pm seven days a week.  I typically do my quick trips in the evening while a kid is at practice or right after practice is over if I can catch them in time.  Sometimes they will even let you in to grab one or two things.  I don't try to pull that off myself but I have seen them allow other people in as I was leaving at 9:01 or so.

I can also tell you the worst time to do your shopping.  That magical time is Sunday afternoon any time after 1pm and before 7:30pm.  The weekends in when they receive their most traffic but Sundays there seem to be less people on staff or more people who call out

If you never heard of Aldi then...

Aldi is a discount grocery store chain that began in Germany in 1961 and came to the U.S. in 1976. It has since spread to 35 states and employs over 25,000 people in its 1,600+ stores. Its corporate headquarters can be found at 1200 N Kirk Rd, Batavia, IL 60510, and the corporate phone number is (630) 879-8100. Aldi has a lot to offer both customers and employees. For one, they offer job security because during the past decade it has more than doubled its footprint and continues to grow at an increasing rate.

In addition to saving customers money, Aldi is known for treating its employees quite well. In order to work for Aldi, one must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Aldi's hiring hierarchy progresses from store associate, to shift manager, to manager trainee, and to store manager.

While qualified applicants may start at any one of these levels, Aldi does like to promote from within whenever possible. As of May 2018, the typical starting wage for a store associate begins at $12.00 per hour, shift managers start around $16.00 per hour, manager trainees start around $55,000 to $65,000 per year, and store managers start around $73,000 to $95,000 per year.

Offered benefits include: medical/dental/vision/prescription insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with an employer match, both short and long-term disability insurance, and life/accidental death & dismemberment/dependent life insurance. Keep in mind though that Aldi's gets an abundance of applications for open positions and obtaining a job is quite competitive.

Aldi is also know for giving back to the communities it serves. They partner with many schools and charity organizations aimed at building better communities. Kids in particular benefit from Aldi's generous contributions toward the health and wellness of today's youth. For example, Aldi started the ALDI Smart Kids program where they offer funding/gift cards to local non-profits, schools, churches, along with local police and fire departments.

Aldi also partners with AFHK (Action for Healthy Kids), to promote healthier eating and living active lifestyles. Food also doesn't go to waste in their stores whenever they can help it. Whenever there is an overstock or items that are about to expire or are damaged, they donate them to one of their local Feeding America food banks in which they partner with. All things said and done, this company makes a great organization to work for that one can feel proud of being a part of.
